The Dept of Compartments is a social-media based art installation exploring language and containment. The Dept is seeking compartmentalization proposals of up to 15 words for its second edition as well as curators for future editions. The Dept welcomes multilingual submissions. Please be familiar with existing compartmentalizations before submission to avoid repetition. Submit only one proposal per submission window. Maximum five compartments/contributors per edition.

The Dept accepts simultaneous submissions, asking to be notified immediately if a contribution is compartmentalized elsewhere. If accepted, the Dept retains first compartmentalization rights. All other rights revert to the contributor. The Dept of Compartments offers an exchange of secure compartmentalization in perpetuity for all contributions in absence of other currency. The Dept will contact all contributors before the end of the current submission cycle regardless of contribution status.
